There is something unclear in this article... The land the encampment and the sculpture was on is owned by BART?

Len Raphael, , winter is only coming for blatant "yellow journalism" of a degree not seen in the Bay Area since the turn into the 20th Century under the Hearst banner or perhaps the foolish one-note crusades of Bruce Brugmann at the end of the SFBG.

After all of the titillating howls about the underage prostitution scandal by this writer and EBX, not one word has been published about the legal actions that were brought having been dropped...

Well, Patrick. Welcome to the EBX inaccuracy fest.

PG&E doesn't own the transmission lines.

Great article!

I would offer that licensing may be a larger barrier than GRE scores...

Licensing is explicitly denied or made more difficult for those who have had brushes with the legal system.

If the paper was delivered in a timely manner, I would keep my subscription, but it seems that Richmond is not a priority - for news or for delivery. I miss Chris Treadway & Tom Lochner!

An oversimplified discussion which does not address a host of critical issues. Transit-based housing development is only a small part of a more environmentally-sound future.

Other vital issues include adequate transit.

There is a complete lack of balance in this article. One brief quote -- not even a sentence -- by BART spokespeople does not suffice given the accusations they face here.

we desperately need public voices dispensing information and as long as we maintain a private profit system we will continue losing them, though calling most of the crap we get from all media and not just print "information" is already a stretch...all public services are always under assault and particularly at present ..putting a private profit on what we are told about that is a losing game.

BART are philistines and their police force murders people. That's all the 'balance' necessary.

great story. just wish they didn't pull the same lame coastal BS of overlooking Chicago by stating Graff came here from the east coast.

People don't seem to fully grasp this, but one of the issues accompanying homelessness is the increasing level of appropriation of public property.

Homeless people do have a constitutional right to sleep in public places if they have nowhere else to go.

No Steve, having the homeless encampment is much worse than the fence. To think otherwise is being ignorant to what tent cities bring and how it impacts the ENTIRE community vs. a fence that isn't obstructing the view of your "artwork".

I'm no fan of BART but they did the right thing.

One can only wonder how much the Oakland establishment enjoys being taken to the cleaners.

They, and we I guess, are certainly good at it.
